2000 Lumen Tactical Flashlight Power - the Klarus XT11GT

When the Klarus XT11GT first came out, the flashlight world was wowed by its innovation, power, and versatility. Even today, it’s one of the best handheld tactical flashlights on the market. Packed to the brim with features, the XT11GT is a great light for pretty much anyone looking for a tactical flashlight. It’s compact enough that you can carry it around on duty, during a camping trip, or around the house while you work. What makes this flashlight so great? Keep reading to learn more!

High Intensity Tactical Flashlight

For such a small flashlight, the XT11GT delivers a whopping 2000 lumens. It's only about 5.5 inches in length so it's pretty easy to clip onto your pocket. You could also carry it in its holster if you want to. That's a lot of power in your hands and the XT11GT does an excellent job of vanquishing the darkness. It's equipped with a CREE XHP35 HD E4 LED and the beam pattern on it is a wonderful balance between a spill and a focused beam. So it does have a more focused beam that dissipates easily into the rest of the spill. It has a maximum beam throw of 316 meters which is just awesome for a small light like this. It's really no wonder that the XT11GT is still popular today even though Klarus released it quite a while ago.

USB Rechargeable Flashlight

One of the handy features of the flashlight is that it's USB rechargeable. The XT11GT has a micro USB port that is located just underneath the head and is protected by a silicone cover. All you need to do to charge the flashlight is plug a micro USB cord into it and you're good to go. It features an indicator that's located on the side switch so you'll be able to see when the flashlight is charging and when it's finished.

The XT11GT also comes with a premium high drain 18650 battery. This battery has a 3100 MAH capacity and is high quality as well as powerful. With this battery, you see some really good run times with this flashlight including a maximum run time of 170 hours. If you wanted to equip the XT11GT with a different battery other than an 18650 battery, it's also compatible with two CR123A batteries. So you have a few options as to which batteries you'd like to use at any given time. Though it's important to say that with two CR123A batteries you're not going to see the same outputs in run times.

Robust Flashlight User Interface

The XT11GT tactical flashlight features a triple switch design. You have dual tail switches as well as a side switch that operates separately from the tail switches. This means you can operate the flashlight easily either with the side switch or the dual tail switches, whichever you prefer. You're also able to lock out that side switch to prevent any accidental illumination or if you would just prefer to use only the tail switches. With the dual tail switches, you have access to a momentary-on, a One-Touch Turbo, and a One-Touch Strobe or a One-Touch Low. With the side switch, you have access to a built-in memory function as well as a One-Touch Low.

The indicator on the side switch doubles as a battery capacity indicator. When you first turn the flashlight on you will see it glow a certain color to let you know about how much charge your battery has left. If you see it glowing green it means that you have 70% or more charge in your battery. If it's orange, the battery has about 30 to 70% of a charge. Red means it has 10 to 30% of a charge and when it's flashing red it means that it has less than 10% of a charge left and it's time to charge the flashlight or to switch out the battery.

Multiple Outputs and Programmable Settings

The XT11GT features six total lighting mode which includes four brightness levels, a strobe mode, and an SOS mode. Along with the brightness levels, you also have three programmable settings that you can easily switch between with the flashlight. First, you have the Tactical Setting. In this setting, the dual tail switches give you access to a momentary-on, a One-Touch Turbo, and a One-Touch Strobe. With the tail switches, you'll only be able to access three out of the four brightness levels, but you'll be able to access all four brightness levels using the side switch.

In the Outdoor Setting, the dual tail switches give you access to a momentary-on, a One-Touch Turbo, and a One-Touch Low. Both the side switch and tail switches will give you access to all four brightness levels. It's important note that you won't be able to access the strobe mode with the tail switch, but you can still access it by double clicking the side switch.

Finally, you have the Advanced Tactical Setting where the side switch will be completely locked out and the dual tail switches will only have a momentary on, a One-Touch Turbo, and a One-Touch strobe. In fact, the flashlight will only function in the turbo mode so you won't be able to access any of the other brightness levels. This setting is used for extreme tactical situations.

We are huge fans of the XT11GT even after Klarus introduced us to the upgraded XT11X 3200 lumen tactical flashlight and the Klarus 360X3 tactical flashlight.
