Top 5 LED Flashlights With Insane Beam Throws
For a while now we’ve been seeing some flashlights with some amazing beam throws on them. It’s incredibly impressive how much power and distance manufacturer’s are able to get from flashlights and it’s incredible how much power we have to turn night into nearly day time with some of these flashlights. So today we thought we’d talk about the top 5 flashlights that have beyond impressive beam throws. If you’re looking for a flashlight with a good beam distance to it, then check out any of these!
Klarus XT12GT - 603 meters
Starting with the flashlight that has a shortest beam throw on the list, the XT12GT is still incredibly impressive with its distance of up to 603 meters. Not only does it deliver on the distance, but it’s quite compact as well in comparison to the other flashlights on this list. In length, the XT12GT is less than 6 and a half inches, so you’re getting quite a throw for such a compact tactical flashlight. It delivers 1600 lumens making it powerful in the dark.
As cool as the beam throw is, I don’t want to neglect some of the other awesome features of the XT12GT. Operated using the dual tail switch design, the XT12GT is easy to use with a single hand and the interface is very intuitive. It features four brightness levels ranging from 10-1600 lumens and has two flashing modes (strobe and SOS) for emergency situations. You can also choose between the two operation settings: the Tactical Setting and the Outdoor Setting. Without going into too much detail, the Tactical Setting offers you a one-touch strobe option whereas the Outdoor Setting offers you a one-touch low option. Finally, the XT12GT features a magnetic charging function that allows for easy and convenient charging. Learn more about the Klarus XT12GT.
Fenix TK47 - 700 meters
Fenix created an awesome thrower with some excellent features to go with it! The TK47 is a dual-purpose long-range flashlight that has a beam distance of 700 meters! With a spot like that, you can easily pinpoint an object from incredibly far away. The TK47 delivers up to 1300 lumens of power, giving you enough light to see perfectly in the darkness. So let’s talk about more details of this flashlight.
It features a nifty lantern-like light on the tail as well as the main light on the front. This rear light is excellent for illuminating the area around you. You can operate the main light using the side switch and the tail light by using the tail switch, making it easy to operate the flashlight. The main light features four brightness levels and a strobe mode. The tail light features two LEDS (one white and one red) and four different outputs including two flashing modes. The TK47 also features a built-in memory mode so it will turn onto the last brightness level you used. Thanks to the beam throw, the tail light, and the memory mode, this flashlight is great for a variety of uses. Check out the Fenix TK47.
Klarus XT30R - 820 meters
When the XT30R came out we were beyond excited! This flashlight is powerful and the beam distance of 820 meters is incredible! We’re talking half a mile here! If ever you needed to see half a mile then the XT30R is your flashlight. This particular flashlight was made with hunting in mind so you can easily spot your prey from a distance. It fits easily onto a weapon, is simple to operate, and it delivers up to 1800 lumens so you can’t go wrong.
It has quite a few features that are awesome! Not only do you have the option of using either the tail switches or side switches or both, but it also has two operation settings you can use. Both the operation settings are useful and you can switch between them or stick with one. You can cycle through the four brightness levels giving you a good amount of versatility. There are two flashing modes in case of an emergency so you know you’re prepared. The XT30R features a magnetic charging port which is great since the XT30R comes with a dual 18650 battery pack. This flashlight is always ready for action and makes a great flashlight for hunting, search and rescue, and more. Learn more about the Klarus XT30R.
Klarus XT32 - 1000 meters
At a glance (or even a good stare), the XT30R and XT32 are nearly identical in looks, but they actually have quite a few different features. To start with, the XT32 delivers 1200 lumens rather than the 1800 the XT30R delivers. However, the XT32 has a maximum beam distance of 1000 meters! It has a pinpoint beam with fairly minimal spill forcing all that light into one lightsaber type of beam.
The XT32 and XT30R share many of the same features including having tail switches and a side switch that function independently from one another, four brightness levels and two flashing modes (though the lumen count and runtimes are different for both lights), two operation settings you can choose between, and a handy little battery capacity indicator. The XT32 is not rechargeable, but it also doesn’t require a properietary battery pack can equip the XT32 with either two 18650 batteries or four CR123 batteries. If you’re wanting power over beam throw, the XT30R is for you, if you’re wanting beam throw over power, than the XT32 is for you. Check out more on the Klarus XT32.
Klarus G35 - 1000 meters
We’re on the last flashlight on this list - the G35. This flashlight is significantly shorter than the previous three flashlights we discussed, but it’s quite a bit thick. It has a powerful LED and an insanely deep reflector which allows the flashlight to deliver 2000 lumens while reaching out as far as 1000 meters! This is definitely a flashlight beast that delivers incredible power and throw. It does have a very specific hotspot, but also provides a good amount of spill so you can see around you.
The G35 also features a tail switch and a side switch that you can operate independently. You can lockout the switches so that they won’t accidentally turn on in a bag or wherever the flashlight happens to be. It also features four brightness levels ranging from 10 - 2000 lumens giving you a huge range. The user interface is easy to learn and intuitive to use. The G35 runs on three 18650 batteries, but in an emergency it can run on a single 18650 battery or two CR123 batteries. This is a great feature to have so you know if you have limited batteries you can still use the G35. See more about the Klarus G35.
So there you have it: the top 5 LED flashlights that have insane beam throws! Flashlight technology is advancing so quickly giving us the best to look forward to. In fact, I’m sure I’ll be updating this list again in no time. For now, we’re still super impressed by the 1000 meter beam throw flashlights!
