Battery Chargers Are Important!

Battery Chargers Are Important!

It’s been so long since we talked about battery chargers! We’ve been so excited about all these new USB rechargeable flashlights coming out. In the last year or two, more and more rechargeable flashlights continue to be made. Don’t get me wrong, this is a great thing to happen and rechargeable flashlights are incredibly convenient. But just because more flashlights are rechargeable, it doesn’t make the battery charger obsolete. In fact, many users still purchase battery chargers even if they have rechargeable flashlights for several reasons which we’re going to talk about today.

Battery Chargers are Great Backup

There are times when your battery will be running out of power and you simply don’t have time to charge the battery. Sometimes when your battery runs out of power, it just makes more sense to replace the battery rather than plugging your flashlight in to charge and waiting until the battery is charged enough to use again. If you don’t have spare batteries for your flashlight, that’s a whole other discussion that we’ll get into some other time.

Some users have back up flashlights and come extra prepared so they could just switch flashlights and let their rechargeable flashlight charge while using their backup. Most will usually just replace the batteries quickly and continue on with their activity. If you don’t have a backup flashlight or forget your backup flashlight, an extra fully charged battery or batteries will come handy.

I’ll give you a quick example. Let’s say that you’re looking for your family’s lost dog at night. You’ve been using your flashlight a lot recently and the battery isn’t going to last you enough time to adequately look for your dog. If you had a backup flashlight, this would be the time to use it. If not, then replacing the mostly depleted battery with a charged battery would be your best option. At this point, you’d have to remember to charge one or both batteries once your doggo is found.

Battery Chargers to the Rescue

Let’s take the last example that we used with the lost dog. Let’s say that you forgot to charge your batteries once you found the dog or you were just too tired and said you’d do it the next day. At this point you have two batteries that need to be charged and to charge both of them in the flashlight one at a time would take quite a while. This is where the battery charger comes in. Whether you have a single bay battery charger or a dual battery charger, either would be helpful to get your batteries back to their full charge quickly and efficiently.

Many users don’t care for rechargeable flashlights. Often, rechargeable flashlights may cost more money than non rechargeable flashlights. There are a ton of awesome non rechargeable flashlights out there like the Nitecore P12. Many users would just rather change the batteries out and charge their batteries separately rather than wait around for the flashlight to charge. With a few batteries and a battery charger, you can cycle through batteries quickly and always have a working flashlight. This can be important if you use your flashlight for work almost everyday or you’re in a situation where you’ll be using your flashlight often.

Battery chargers also come in handy during emergencies. With a battery charger, you can make sure that most or all of your batteries are charged so that if an emergency strikes you’re prepared with fully charged backup batteries.

Multifunctional Battery Chargers

Many battery chargers can also function as power banks which can come in handy pretty often. An example would be going on a weekend camping trip. If you run out of backup batteries on your camping trip or if your buddy forgot to bring spare batteries then that power bank function starts looking brilliant. And when you get back home from your camping trip with depleted batteries, you’ll be glad to have a charger that can charge all of them.

The great thing about high-quality battery chargers is that they’re able to charge different types of batteries usually at the same time. So if you have a flashlight that uses an 18650, one that uses a 16340, and one that uses a 14500, one battery charger (depending on which one you buy) will be able to charge those! It might be easier charging all those batteries in a single charger rather than plugging all your flashlights into the wall.
