Best Hunting Flashlight - the Klarus FH10

Klarus has released many unique and innovative flashlights in the last few years, but there’s something special about the Klarus FH10. We haven’t seen any flashlights like this one and it has unique features that puts it above and beyond the average. So today, we’re going to talk about the amazing Klarus FH10 tactical flashlight.

700 Lumen Tactical Flashlight

Let's start with talking about the power behind this LED flashlight. It delivers a maximum output of 700 lumens, an excellent amount of light for any outdoor use. It's not the most compact flashlight, but it's a great flashlight to mount on a rifle. It's about 7 inches in length which puts it in the midsize handheld flashlight category I would say. Nevertheless, if you wanted to carry the FH10 with you, you could do so using the included holster.

Multiple Colored LEDs

The FH10 is a multifunction flashlight and one of the aspects that makes it multifunctional is that it features three LEDs: a white LED, a red LED, and a green LED. These different colored LEDs make it excellent for any outdoor use especially hunting. The white LED is going to completely vanquish the darkness and allow you to see even on a moonless night. The red LED is great for preserving your night vision, penetrating through fog or smoke, and it won't alert any prey. This is a preferred color for a hunting light. Finally, you have green which also will not disrupt night vision and makes it great to read maps at night. So you have three options in which color LED you'd like to choose at any given moment. We'll talk about the user interface and how to switch between the LEDs below.

Adjustable Focus Flashlight

You're also able to adjust the focus of the FH10 flashlight. You can pick between a completely focused hotspot or a wide and more diffused beam. With the focused hotspot, you'll see a maximum beam distance of 500 meters which is extremely impressive. So if you're needing a spotlight or a flood light, the FH10 will fit the ticket. It's important to know that the wide beam is not too terribly wide. It is wide enough that you can clearly see the area in front of you, but if you're wanting a really wide flood I would recommend the Klarus FX10 which is another adjustable focus flashlight or even the Klarus G20 which is a floodlight.

Simple Tactical Flashlight User Interface

The user interface on the FH10 is easy to learn and really unique. It does feature a dual tail switch design which, if you have used a Klarus tactical flashlight before, you are most likely familiar with. The main switch features a momentary on and will allow you to turn the flashlight on and off. On the other hand, the secondary paddle switch cycles through the different brightness levels and gives you the strobe mode. With the flashlight either on or off, simply hold down that secondary switch to activate an immediate strobe. This ensures that you are always prepared in any tactical situation.

So how do you change between the LEDs? That is what I'm extremely excited to talk about and what makes this LED flashlight incredibly innovative. Beneath the head of the flashlight, you will see an integrated button that you can push from side to side. This will allow you to change the colors of the LEDs smoothly, quickly, and easily. As I said before, we've never seen another flashlight like this and the smoothness that you can change the LEDs is extraordinary.

Also, each LED features three brightness levels and a flashing mode which is very impressive. With the white LED the brightness levels are 15 lumens, 200 lumens, and 700 lumens. With the red LED the brightness levels are 3 lumens, 40 lumens, and 100 lumens. Finally, with the green LED the brightness levels are 5 lumens, 65 lumens, and 160 lumens. Using the white LED and having the adjustable focus in the right position, the FH10 has a maximum beam distance of 500 meters! So you’ll be seeing way far into the distance with its pinpoint beam!

18650 Flashlight

The FH10 is an 18650 flashlight and does include 2600 mAh high drain 18650 battery with the accessories. However, you can also accept it with two CR123A batteries if you prefer. Either way, it's always great to be able to have a flashlight that is compatible with multiple batteries.

The next question: does the FH10 stand up against nature? The answer is, yes. You can expect high quality and durability with any Klarus flashlight and especially the FH10. It's built out of a sturdy aircraft grade aluminum with a hard anodized finish. It's impact resistant up to 1.5 meters and is waterproof up to IPX6 standards so means you could take it out in the rain and you're not going to have a problem.

Concluding Remarks

So if you're looking for a multifunction hunting flashlight, you're not going to find better than the FH10.
