Best LED Flashlight for August - the Klarus FX10

So we wanted to highlight an excellent tactical flashlight for August and we’re picking the awesome Klarus FX10 1000 lumen LED flashlight. This is one of Klarus’ most recent releases and it’s become quite popular among flashlight users. So let’s dive in and see what makes this LED flashlight so great.

The Klarus FX10 and All its Awesome Features

If you haven’t heard of the Klarus FX10 then you're in for a treat. This is the first adjustable focus flashlight by Klarus and it's a great versatile tactical flashlight. It has many features that make it excellent for a variety of situations and just a fun flashlight to use.

Adjustable Zoom Flashlight

As we mentioned before, it does have an adjustable focus. With the Klarus Focusing System you can modify the beam from a broad diffused beam to a narrow focused beam. All you have to do is twist the head of the flashlight and it’ll adjust the beam. Twisting the head is very easy and very smooth but quite sturdy so you know that the head of a flashlight will stay in place. Whenever it has a broad beam the light is completely diffused so you won't see any hotspot. When the flashlight has a more narrow beam to it you'll see a very defined hotspot.

Powerful LED Flashlight

The FX10 is equipped with a CREE XP-L HI V3 LED. With 1000 lumens in your hand you can light up a moonless night easily. With the narrow beam, the FX10 can reach out 300 meters allowing you to see far away into the distance.

The FX10 LED flashlight features a triple switch design. It has a side switch and dual tail switches that function independently so you can choose whichever switch you'd like to use at any given time. With the dual tail switches, you'll have a momentary on, a One-Touch Turbo, and a One-Touch Strobe or a One-Touch Low. The side switch will have a One-Touch Low and a mode memory function that will remember the last brightness level you used. Between these switches you can use the flashlight exactly how you would like to. You have access to any mode that you need. The switches are also able to lock out so that they don't turn on accidentally in your pocket or in a bag during transit.

Multiple Outputs and Programmable Settings

While 1000 lumens is useful and definitely fun to play around with, you won't always need the full power of this tactical flashlight. That's why the 6 total outputs are so great. Between the 4 different brightness levels, the strobe mode, and the SOS mode, you are ready for any situation. The lower brightness levels are excellent when you're conserving the battery or Illuminating areas that are smaller such as closets or cars. The 2 flashing modes give you peace of mind in case an emergency ever happens.

The FX10 also features two programmable settings that help make it more versatile. The settings you can choose between are the Tactical Setting and the Outdoor Setting. The difference in these settings involve the dual tail switches. The side switch remains the same in both settings. In the Tactical Setting, you have access to a One-Touch Turbo and a One-Touch Strobe. In the Outdoor Setting you have access to One-Touch Turbo and a One-Touch Low. Both settings are excellent to use and really come down to your preference. If you like having access to the One-Touch Strobe because you want that peace of mind in case you’re walking in a parking lot at night or walking your dog at night then the Tactical Setting is perfect. If you like having that One-Touch Low using that tail switch, especially during outdoor activities, than the Outdoor Setting is for you. The beautiful thing is that no matter what, you can always switch between the settings easily making the FX10 great for all kinds of situations.

USB Rechargeable Flashlight

The FX10 is also a USB rechargeable flashlight and has a charging/battery capacity indicator that you can refer to you at any time to know the status of the charging. Wo you can charge the FX10 while working on your computer or while driving to your destination.

The FX10 comes with a Klarus 18650 battery with a 2600 mAh capacity. You can equip the FX10 with an 18650 battery, two CR123A batteries, or two Klarus 16340 batteries. Between all these batteries you have a lot of options as to what you can use and which batteries can be your backups. As I mentioned before, the FX10 LED flashlight also has that battery capacity indicator that's located on the side switch. When you first turn on the light the indicator will glow a certain color for a few seconds. Based on the color you can tell how much charge your battery still has and whether or not it's time to change the battery out or charge the flashlight.
