Best Rechargeable Flashlight

The Klarus ST15R is a USB rechargeable flashlight so you don't need to worry about purchasing backup batteries or even purchasing a battery charger. On the side of the flashlight you'll see a micro USB port that is protected by a small silicone cover. This LED flashlight features a charging indicator so you know the status of the battery. While it's charging, the indicator will glow red and, when it's finished charging, the indicator will glow green. You can still operate the flashlight in the lowest brightness level while it's charging. This is great in case you still need to use the flashlight even while it's charging.

LED Flashlight with Easy User Interface

The ST15R outdoor flashlight features dual switches - a tail switch and a side switch. The tail switch turns on and off the flashlight while the side switch allows you to cycle through the different brightness levels as well as access the flashing modes. This is a very easy user interface and, after a few moments of using the flashlight, you'll learn it quickly. There is a memory function that will remember the last brightness level you used and turn on to that brightness level the next time you use your flashlight. This is really great if you want to conserve the battery or if you prefer to use the flashlight in a different brightness level.

Speaking of brightness levels, the ST15R features four total brightness levels that range from 10 lumens to 1200 lumens so you have a wide range of options. The ST15R also has three flashing modes in case of emergencies: strobe, Beacon, and SOS. 18650 Flashlight

While the ST15R does come with an 18650 battery and can run on 18650 batteries, you can also equip it with two CR123A batteries or two Klarus 16340 batteries. Another hallmark of an outdoor flashlight is the ability to use different batteries. Some users may prefer to use CR123A batteries as backup batteries while others prefer to stick with 18650 batteries, so it's great that you have 3 battery options with the ST15R. As I said before, it does come with a Klarus 18650 battery with a 2600 mah capacity so you're already set. However, during longer camping trips or outdoor adventures, it's always great to have some backup batteries.

The ST15R does have some really great run times so your flashlight will last quite a while before you need to charge it. In the lowest brightness level, the runtime is a maximum of 200 hours. So if you plan your usage correctly, you may not need to worry about charging your flashlight or replacing the battery for a long time. You can also refer to the battery capacity indicator when using an 18650 battery to help you plan your usage of the flashlight. When you first turn on the ST15R, you'll see the battery capacity indicator glow a certain color for about 5 seconds. The battery capacity indicator will glow green if the battery is 70 to 100% charged, orange when the battery is 30 to 70% charged, red when the battery is 10 to 30% charge, and it will flash red if the battery is less than 10% charged. If you see that flashing red it means that it's time to recharge your flashlight or replace the battery.

Durable LED Flashlight

Klarus constructed this flashlight knowing that it would be up against the harsh environments that are often found in nature. It's crafted from Aerospace aluminum alloy and has a hard anodizing finish making it incredibly lightweight and wear resistant. It features heat dissipation fins along the side as well as an Intelligent Thermal Protection System to ensure that the flashlight is always stable and won't overheat. The Intelligent Thermal Protection System will monitor the internal temperature of the flashlight and adjust the output accordingly so that the LED and internal components are safe and will not be damaged by overheating.
