Easy-to-Use Tactical Flashlights
Recently in the flashlight market, flashlight manufacturers have been stuffing as many features as possible into their products. Klarus has come out with upgraded versions of their XT series flashlights like the XT11GT that are USB rechargeable, programmable, and more. MecArmy has created flashlights that can function as a powerbank such as the MOT10. Of course, these flashlights are amazing and we’re always excited to see what manufacturers are going to come out with. However, there’s something to be said about the simple, straight-forward tactical flashlight that requires only a few seconds to learn the ins and outs of. While so many features of these jam-packed flashlights are awesome, not everybody cares about programmable settings or extra features for their illumination tools.Today, we’re going to talk about some of these easy-to-use flashlights because they’re excellent for any beginner tactical user, any seasoned tactical user, and make great gifts that won’t break the bank.
Klarus XT2C Tactical Flashlight
I don’t think you can get more straightforward than the Klarus XT2C. This compact flashlight delivers up to 1100 lumens and has a beam throw of 243 meters. It also features four total outputs: High - 1100 lumens, Medium - 400 lumens, Low - 10 lumens, and strobe. One of the best aspects of this flashlight is the simple user interface. You operate the XT2C using the dual tail switch which allows for easy one-handed operation. The main switch gives you momentary-on and also turns the flashlight ON and OFF. The secondary switch lets you cycle through the brightness levels easily and instantly access the strobe mode. That’s it! That’s all there is to the user interface of the XT2C!
Now that you know how the XT2C works, let’s talk about what else you need to know about this tactical flashlight. You can equip the XT2C with either a single 18650 battery or two CR123 batteries, whichever is more convenient for you. It does come with a Klarus 18650 battery so you don’t need to worry about finding or purchasing a battery with this flashlight. It’s also built with safety in mind. The grooves along the head of the flashlight help dissipate the heat, keeping the flashlight cool and safe to touch. It’s also waterproof up to IPX8 standards and is impact resistant up to 1.5 meters. You can learn more about the Klarus XT2C here.
Fenix TK16 Tactical Flashlight
The TK16 is a popular Fenix tactical flashlight and it’s not hard to see why. It has a dual-tactical switch with momentary-on and instant access to turbo. The dual switches make operating the the flashlight easy even with a single hand. It has 5 different brightness outputs with a turbo mode of 1000 lumens. It also features a built-in memory function that will turn onto the last brightness level you used.
Moving onto the user interface, you have two switches, the main switch and the mode switch. The interface is pretty much just like the Klarus XT2C. The main switch turns ON and OFF the flashlight and gives you access to momentary-on. The mode switch allows you to cycle through the brightness levels starting with the higher levels and cycling down. By holding it down you can immediately access the strobe mode. Nitecore P12GT Tactical Flashlight
You know you’re getting quality when you get a Nitecore flashlight. The P12GT is an excellent tactical flashlight that you can rely on. It delivers 1000 lumens and features four different brightness levels: High - 1000 lumens, Medium - 280 lumens, Low - 55 lumens, and Moonlight - 1 lumen. It also has three specialty modes that you can use for emergencies: strobe, SOS, and location beacon. The P12GT features a side switch and a tail switch which some users really like but other users really prefer one switch or the other.
Operating the P12GT is simple. Use the tail switch to turn the flashlight ON and OFF. You can also access momentary-on which is great. Then you use the side switch to cycle through the different brightness levels. And double tap the side switch to enter the strobe mode. The side switch also doubles as a battery power indicator, giving you an idea what the charge of the battery is. You can see more on the Nitecore P12GT here.
Nitecore MH10 Tactical Flashlight
The MH10 is an easy to use flashlight, but it does have a few more features for your convenience than the other flashlights I’ve spoken about so far. To start with, the MH10 delivers up to 1000 lumens and has a max beam distance of 232 meters. The MH10 has quite a few outputs, seven total. It has four brightness levels: High - 1000 lumens, Medium - 240 lumens, Low -70 lumens, and Moonlight - 1 lumen. It also features three specialty modes that can be used in cases of emergency: strobe, SOS, and beacon.
So let’s talk about the user interface now. It has a single side switch which you can just tap to turn the flashlight ON or OFF. Press and hold while the MH10 is on and you can cycle through the brightness levels. Whether the flashlight is ON or OFF, you can double click to enter the strobe mode. While in the strobe mode you can press and hold the switch to enter SOS mode and press and hold the switch again to enter the Beacon mode. With it’s single switch, the MH10 is incredibly easy to operate.
There’s a little more to the MH10 than what I’ve talked about so far. It’s USB rechargeable for one which many customers find convenient and preferable. There’s also a battery indicator function to give you an idea of the battery’s charge. It can run on a single 18650 or a pair of CR123 batteries, but it does come with a Nitecore 18650 battery. Just like the rest of these flashlights, the MH10 is impact resistant up to 1.5 meters and is waterproof up to IPX8 standards. Learn more about the Nitecore MH10 here.
