Know Your Tactical Flashlight's Warranty

One of the great things about having a high-quality tactical flashlights is knowing that you have a durable tool that will last you. However, there may be a time when your flashlight malfunctions or breaks and it’s important to know the flashlight brand’s warranty so you know what you can get fixed. Every brand we sell on FlashlightZ has a warranty so today we’ll be talking about the different warranties.

Klarus

Klarus Tactical Flashlight XT11GT

Klarus guarantees their flashlights against defects in material or workmanship. If the flashlight is found to be defective under normal use within 5 years of the proof of purchase date, then the flashlight will be repaired or replaced without charge. So here’s what this means: if within 5 years your flashlight’s LED burns out or breaks, your switch stops working, or any other malfunction or defect that reflects the material used or the workmanship, then Klarus will repair or replace your flashlight. It’s important to note that Klarus’ warranty does not cover any damage caused by an accident, alteration of the product, or unreasonable use of the product.

MecArmy

Everyday Carry MecArmy PT16

MecArmy also offers a 5 year warranty on all their products if there is any defect as a result of the materials or workmanship. After 15 days of your purchase any defective product can be exchanged or replaced by a local distributor or dealer. After 15 days all defective products can be repaired free of charge for a 5 years period from the date of purchase. MecArmy also offers a lifetime workmanship guarantee. This means that after the 5 year period, MecArmy will still repair your product and only charge you for the material expenses. So you won’t get charged for the labor!

Nitecore

Tactical Flashlight Nitecore P12

Nitecore offers a 5 year warranty for any of their flashlights or headlamps. Within 5 years of purchase Nitecore will repair or replace any product that has ceased to function properly. After the 5 years has passed you can still receive free labor on the product itself. However, there will be a charge for any parts that your flashlight may require.

Nitecore’s warranty is null and void if damage was caused to the flashlight by excessive dropping, unauthorized modification, reconstruction, improper use, improper storage, improper maintenance, or damage was caused by battery leakage. Nitecore warranty service can only be provided by authorized Nitecore dealers and distributors. If an unauthorized third party repairs the flashlight or if you purchase a Nitecore flashlight from an unauthorized source, then the warranty is also void.

Fenix

Tactical 1000 Lumen Flashlight Fenix TK16

Fenix has so many products that they’ve broken them down into three categories and each category has a different warranty. Category 1 includes flashlights, headlamps, and bike lights that come with batteries you can remove. Category 2 includes flashlights, headlamps, and bike lights that come with batteries or battery packs that you cannot remove (like a built-in battery pack). Category 3 includes rechargeable batteries, battery chargers, bike mounts, and remote pressure switches. We’ll be talking about Category 1 because it has the most products.

So Category 1 has a 5 year warranty and, if you register your light on the website, you can extend the warranty for an extra 6 months. Fenix covers any manufacturer defects free of charge within that 5 year period. After the 5 years, you can still get your flashlight repaired, but you will be paying for the cost of the parts required.

Olight

Tactical Flashlight Streamlight PolyTac

Olight also has a 5 year warranty on their products. Within 30 days if your Olight product is defective as a result of any materials or workmanship then you can return it to the retailer you purchased it from and they will replace or repair it. After 30 days you can return the flashlight to Olight and they will repair or replace it within the 5 year warranty period. The warranty does not cover any normal wear and tear, any excessive damage, modifications, improper maintenance, negligence, or repair by anyone other than an authorized retailer or Olight itself.

Streamlight

Olight Tactical Flashlight M23 Javelot

Streamlight offers a limited lifetime warranty! Pay special attention to the “limited” part though. Streamlight warrants that its products will be free of defects for a lifetime of use excluding the batteries and bulbs. If you send your flashlight to Streamlight and they determine it to be defective, they will replace or refund the product. The limited lifetime warranty excludes rechargeable batteries, switches, and electronics which are covered under a 2 year warranty with proof of purchase. As you’d expect, the warranty does not cover any misuse of the product.

So we’ll need to continue this list another time. I’m sure you’re starting to see a pattern with some of these warranties however! It’s important to read the fine lines, and what we’re providing in this blog is just an overview. If you’re looking to take advantage of the manufacturer’s warranty, we recommend looking at the manufacturer’s warranty, usually listed on their website.
