Know Your Tactical Flashlight's Warranty: The Sequel
A couple weeks ago we talked about a variety of different warranties for several of the brands we carry at FlashlightZ, but not all of them. So today we’ll be covering the rest of the warranties. We can’t stress enough just how important it is to know your flashlight’s warranty. People can easily be deceived by the limited warranty that many manufacturer’s may offer. The truth is, it’s important to know what exactly is limited. Make sure you don’t confuse limited lifetime warranty with just lifetime warranty.
So with this blog, we’ll go over a few other brands of flashlights that we sell and talk a bit about each one’s warranty to give you an idea as to what you can expect.
Armytek
Armytek has a 30 day satisfaction guaranteed, meaning that if within 30 days you don’t like the flashlight you can return it within 30 days of receiving it. It’s important to note that the customer is responsible for the shipping on the item they plan on returning.
Armytek does have a 10 year No Hassle Warranty which is definitely nice. Armytek warrants that their products will be free from defects in material or workmanship. The 10 year No Hassle warranty extends to flashlights only and excludes batteries, chargers, switches, and connectors. These items have a 2 year warranty on them. So Armytek will repair or replace your items without charge if the items are defective under normal use and if they still have warranty on them. Just like other manufacturer’s, Armytek’s warranty does not cover normal maintenance and service, products that have been modified, misused, abused, or neglected, damage from accidents or improper maintenance and repair by anyone other than Armytek.
Coast
Coast sells a variety of different products, but we’re going to narrow it down to their LED flashlights and headlamps. Coast has a lifetime warranty on their flashlights and headlamps which is awesome! Their warranty claims that their flashlights and headlamps will be free of defects in the materials and workmanship for the life of the original purchaser!
The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, nor does it cover damage from misuse or neglect. It’s also important to know that the warranty does not cover batteries and charging accessories or damage that may have been caused by batteries such as a leakage.
Maglite
The Maglite warranty is a little tougher. The warranty on Maglite products varies from product to product and region to region. Because the warranties on their products are so diverse, we strongly recommend any Maglite customer to go to Maglite’s website and read the warranty for your specific product.
Surefire
Surefire is another brand with a lifetime warranty! Surefire warrants that if a customer purchases one of their products and Surefire finds it to be defective in material and/or workmanship during the customer’s lifetime, they will repair it or replace it with no hassle! Rechargeable batteries and chargers have a 2 year warranty from the date of purchase.
So now let’s talk about what their warranty does not cover. Surefire’s warranty does not cover consumables or normal wear-and-tear (this includes switches or headbands wearing out, batteries draining, etc) or damage resulting from abuse, alterations, unauthorized repairs, or any use that’s contrary to the Surefire’s user manual.
Zebralight
Zebralight warrants that its products will be free of defects in material and workmanship for up to 12 months from the date of purchase with proof of purchase. Zebralight will repair or replace your product without charge if they find it to be defective under normal use. Zebralight’s warranty does not cover normal maintenance and service and does not apply to any products or parts that have been modified, misuse, abuse, or negligence. It also will not apply to any damage caused by battery leakage, an accident, and improper maintenance and repair by anyone other than Zebralight.
So there you have it! Those are all the brands of flashlights we carry! Make sure to read the warranty on any flashlight or even charger that you purchase. For some people, warranty is important when purchasing a rather high-end product. So if you’re willing to shell out the money for a high-end product, make sure you’re getting what you want out of the product and the warranty!
