LED Flashlights for Any Occasion Part 2
Share
Lighting is something we use constantly whether we realize it or not. Not including the light that illuminates a room, we use light for TV, computers, phones, driving, and more. We rely on light a great deal which is why flashlights serve as incredible tools. So last week we talked about a few different kinds of flashlights like professional and emergency. For this post we’ll be talking about more specific lights that serve particular outdoor activities.
Tactical flashlights are one of the most popular types of flashlights today. Not only are they illumination tools but they are also excellent self-defense tools that can be used immediately during an emergency. Tactical flashlights are usually incredibly bright, often have a crenelated bezel, and have at least one specialty mode called a Strobe mode that can blind an attacker.
The Klarus XT11GT Tactical Flashlight
So there are a ton of awesome features of this flashlight, but we’ll be focusing on more of the tactical aspects. The XT11GT delivers up to 2000 lumens and has a beam throw of 402 meters which is just incredible! It features a removable crenelated bezel so you can take it off if you wish. The bezel works as a self-defense tool in case of an attacker. The XT11GT has a tactical dual-tail switch and a side switch. The tail switch is an awesome tactical feature because you can access the light, brightness levels, and the strobe mode immediately. The XT11GT has three specific programmable settings that you can choose from: the Tactical Setting, the Outdoor Setting, and the Advanced Tactical Setting.
Often times, tactical flashlights can be used as hunting flashlights. For example, the XT11GT can have colored filters put over the light to make hunting easier. Hunting flashlights usually either come with different colored LEDs or can have filters placed over them. They’ll also be able to fit on a standard gun mount with a body diameter of an inch and you should be able to replace the tail cap with a remote pressure switch.
The Nitecore MH27 Hunting Flashlight
This Nitecore flashlight is the perfect illumination tool for night or early morning hunting. It has a long range beam throw that can illuminate 462 meters in front of you. The MH27 has a primary LED and three colored LEDs: Red, Green, and Blue. With this flashlight you don’t have to worry about changing out filters. Changing between the colored LEDs is very simple with this flashlight and it can easily be mounted on any standard gun mount. Some nice perks of this flashlight include its integrated micro USB port along with a battery power indicator located in the side switch so you can tell when it’s time to charge the battery.
So this is a vague type of light that can include anything from a handheld light to a lantern to a headlamp. It really just depends on what you’re most comfortable with. Some people like the headlamps so they can still use both of their hands and illuminate wherever they’re looking. Others don’t like the feeling of a light on their heads. When it comes to camping or an outdoor activity you want to find a light that has a long runtime so you’re not constantly changing out or charging the battery.
The Fenix CL25R Camping Lantern
This is one of my favorite lanterns and is especially useful when camping as it illuminates a 25 meter diameter and allows you to use both hands. On the low brightness level, this lantern can last over 600 hours so you don’t need o worry about replacing the battery! Also, the CL25R is USB rechargeable so you can charge it on the drive to the campsite or on the drive back. It also features a red light function which won’t disrupt your night vision, but will still illuminate the area.
There you have it! A flashlight for any occasion! Maybe not a wedding, but I could come up with a reason as to why a flashlight would be handy for that occasion as well!
