LED Hunting Flashlights and Hunting Accessories

LED Hunting Flashlights and Hunting Accessories

A valuable tool to take with you when hunting is an LED flashlight. Being able to see in the darkness is priceless especially when it comes to hunting. With the right LED flashlight you can easily see what's ahead of you, find your prey, track your prey more easily, and more. That's why, for this blog, we are going to be talking about the three best LED hunting flashlights. At least, they're our favorite hunting flashlights for this season.

Each flashlight that we picked is powerful, versatile, and would make a great addition to your hunting gear. We picked the top quality flashlights that you can rely on and that can withstand the recoil from a weapon. We'll also talk about some accessories that you might want to consider when taking your flashlight on a hunting trip. These accessories can make the experience more convenient and even more enjoyable. So let's get started with the three best LED flashlights for hunting.

The Best LED Flashlights for Hunting

Picking the best hunting flashlights was definitely tough because there are a lot of great contenders out there. However, some flashlights may advertise as hunting flashlights but may not be high quality enough to stand up to the recoil that a weapon produces. The three flashlights we’ll talk about today are high-quality, durable, extremely powerful, and are packed with features. While each flashlight we talk about will be unique in its own way you can expect to find these important aspects at the very least.

One of the great things about these flashlights is that they are not solely hunting flashlights so you can use them for other purposes. Because their versatility is vast you may also choose to use the flashlight as a general household flashlight, a tactical flashlight, or a flashlight for work. From these three flashlights you can pick whichever one you think will be best suited for you, pick the accessories that go with it and that you would like and you're good to go. So let's get started.

Klarus XT11GT

I want to start with the Klarus XT11GT because it’s a user favorite and a staff favorite flashlight and because it's compact, powerful, versatile, and is truly phenomenal. Let's look into the power first. The XT11GT delivers 2000 lumens and is compact enough that it can easily be carried in a holster or even clipped to a pocket. This flashlight is only about 5.5 inches in length and is incredibly lightweight making it an excellent tactical flashlight as well as a hunting flashlight. It features a maximum beam distance of 316 meters so you get a pretty good throw out of this flashlight.

2000 Lumen Tactical Flashlight Klarus XT11GT

The XT11GT features 6 total outputs including four brightness levels, a strobe mode, and an SOS mode. Along with these outputs, this tactical light features three operation settings that you can choose from and switch back and forth between: the Tactical Setting, the Outdoor Setting, and the Advanced Tactical Setting. I want to take a minute to talk about these three different settings. Before I do it's important to know the user interface of the XT11GT. It features dual tail switches and a side switch. The switches function independently and you can lock out the side switch if you'd prefer to only use the tail switches.

So now that you know about the switches let's talk a bit about the operation settings. In the Tactical Mode you have a one-touch turbo, a one-touch low, and a one-touch strobe. The secondary switch on the tailcap will give you access to the one-touch strobe, the main switch on the tailcap will give you access to the one-touch turbo, and you can access the one-touch low through the side switch. You can access the SOS mode and take advantage of the built-in memory function using the side switch.

Tactical Rechargeable Flashlight Klarus XT11GT

The Outdoor Setting is similar to the Tactical Setting but with one major difference. The secondary switch on the tailcap will access a one-touch low rather than a one-touch strobe. If you would prefer to access the one-touch low using the tail switches then this is definitely the operation setting for you. Finally, you have the Advanced Tactical Setting and this is for extreme tactical situations. In this setting the side switch will be completely locked out and the tail switches will only be able to access the turbo mode and the strobe mode.Between the various brightness levels and the settings, you can get the perfect light for any situation with the XT11GT.

Believe it or not, this flashlight has more features. You can equip the XT11GT with either a single 18650 battery or two CR123 batteries. When looking for an outdoor flashlight it's always great to find a flashlight that can accept different batteries. This tactical flashlight is also USB rechargeable so you can easily recharge the flashlight using any micro USB cable. You have a charging indicator/battery capacity indicator that lets you know the charging status while the flashlight is charging and lets you know the battery levels while you're using the flashlight so you can plan a bit. There are a lot of features packed into this very compact flashlight so you can see why it's become a user and staff favorite. It also would work great as a hunting flashlight because you can use the different settings to essentially get the perfect hunting flashlight for you. It's also compact enough that if you didn't want to attach it to your weapon you could easily clip it on your pocket or secure it in its holster.

Klarus XT12GT

The Klarus XT12GT could be considered the bigger brother of the XT11GT. It delivers 1600 lumens and has a maximum being distance of 603 meters. This is definitely considered a compact throwing light. It's less than 6.5 inches in length so it's a bit bigger, but can still be clipped onto a pocket or easily carried in a holster. Unlike the XT11GT, the XT12GT only features a dual tail switch design simplifying the user interface a little bit. However, it still features four brightness levels, a strobe mode, and an SOS mode as well as two operation settings: the Tactical Setting and the Outdoor setting. In the Tactical Setting you'll have a one-touch turbo, a one-touch strobe, and will be able to cycle through the brightness levels easily. In the Outdoor Setting you'll have a one-touch turbo, one-touch low, and you'll be able to cycle through the brightness levels easily. So it's really up to you whether you think an immediate strobe or an immediate low is better for you.

1600 Lumen Tactical Flashlight Klarus XT12GT

You can equipped the XT12GT with a single 18650 battery or two CR123 batteries. On the side of the flashlights it has a magnetic charging port and comes with a USB magnetic charging cable. Many users like this proprietary cable because you don't need to worry about fumbling with the USB port or with the USB port cover. With the magnetic charging port and cable you simply attach the cable on to the port with no issues and it charges conveniently and securely. There is a small LED indicator around the magnetic charging port that lets you know the charging status while charging the flashlight and the battery level while using the flashlight.

So as you can see the XT12GT is similar to the XT11GT but has its own unique features. If the XT11GT has too many bells and whistles for you that I would recommend checking out the XT12GT. Not to mention that this flashlight has a significantly longer beam throw at 603 meter. Due to this beam throw it really does make an excellent hunting flashlight.

Klarus XT30R

The last flashlight on this list is the Klarus XT30R. This is the biggest flashlight on the list with a length of nearly 10 inches. It delivers 1800 lumens and it has a maximum distance of 820 meters which is by far the best throw of the three flashlights on this list. It features dual tail switches and a side switch that function independently from one another. If you'd like you can lock out the side switch and only use the tail switches. However the side switch has access to the built-in memory function so if you want to take advantage of that then it's a good idea to use that side switch.

1800 Lumen Klarus XT30R Tactical Flashlight

With the XT30R you also have four brightness levels, a strobe mode, and an SOS mode. You also have two programmable settings: the Tactical setting and the Hunting setting. The difference in these two settings is the secondary switch on the tailcap’s function. In the Tactical Setting you'll have an access to a one-touch strobe by holding down that secondary tail switch. In the Hunting Setting you'll have access to a one-touch low holding down that secondary tail switch.

Just like the XT12GT, the XT30R features a magnetic charging ability with its magnetic charging port included USB magnetic charging cable. It also features that same LED indicator around the charging port that lets you know the status of charging while you have it plugged in and lets you know the battery levels when you're using the flashlight. The XT30R comes with a built-in lithium-ion battery pack which means you can't change out the batteries. This can be an issue for some users, but because of the charging function it's not too much of an issue. The XT30R fits comfortably on a rifle and allows you to see far into the distance making it an excellent hunting flashlight.

LED Hunting Flashlight Accessories

With the right accessories you can really put together a great hunting flashlight set. You can find gun mounts that allow you to mount a flashlight onto your weapon. This way you don't need to worry about holding up your flashlight by hand. With a remote pressure switch, you are able to activate the flashlight in a more convenient manner rather than having to find the switches on the flashlight itself. Finally, you can attach filters for each of these flashlights to make your hunting experience more convenient. We have the FT11 filters that fit on the XT11GT. We have the FT12 filters which fit on the XT12GT. And finally we have the FT30 filters which fit on the XT30R.

So those are our favorite hunting flashlights. Each flashlight is unique in its own way but all three flashlights are powerful, durable, versatile, and so much more. Even if you don't go hunting very often these flashlights will serve you in more ways than one. So check each flashlights out and decide which hunting flashlight is the right one for you.
