We’re expecting another shipment to get here by June 10th so you can back order a Klarus XT21X today! If you haven’t heard about the Klarus XT21X, then keep reading so you can find out why everyone is in love with this 4000 lumen flashlight.

Features of the Best Tactical Flashlight

When Klarus first announced the XT21X, there was a ton of excitement over the output. 4000 lumens in a compact tactical flashlight is nothing to sneeze at! However, there’s actually a lot more to this flashlight than pure power. It’s packed to the brim with so many useful features that it could easily become your go-to flashlight for almost any situation. Let’s get into the many features of the XT21X.

4000 Lumen Flashlight

First and foremost, in case you skipped over the many times it was written in this blog alone, the XT21X does deliver a whopping 4000 lumens! It features a CREE XHP70.2 P2 LED with a constant current so you won’t see any flickering. With it’s orange peel textured reflector, the XT21X delivers a wide and diffused beam so you’ll be able to see everything in front of you clearly. It’s still able to throw its beam fairly far and has a maximum beam distance of 316 meters.

Compact Flashlight and Versatile User Interface

The XT21X flashlight is a pretty compact light considering its 4000 lumen output. It's a little less than six and a half inches in length and has a head diameter of a little over an inch and a half. It's pretty big for a pocket light, but you could clip it onto your pocket if you want to use the removable pocket clip that the XT21X comes with. It also comes with the holster which may be the most preferred method of carrying this flashlight.

The XT21X features a triple switch design which includes dual tail switches and a side switch that functions separately. With the dual tail switches you'll have access to a momentary-on, a One-Touch Turbo, and a One-Touch Strobe or a One-Touch Low depending on the programmable setting you have it in and we'll get to that in a minute. The side switch, on the other hand, features a built-in memory function and a One-Touch Low. You are able to lock out any of the switches to prevent any accident illumination.

It's really great that Klarus included the triple switch design because it allows the user to use the flashlight however they want to. If you prefer using the side switch then you can continually use the side switch. If you prefer using the tactical switches then you can use those or you can switch back and forth.

Multiple Outputs and Programmable Settings

Versatile Programmable Settings on the Klarus XT21X

You do have multiple outputs with the XT21X. This tactical flashlight features a total of seven outputs and that includes five brightness levels, a strobe mode, and an SOS mode. The brightness levels range from 5 lumens to 4000 lumens and the maximum run time using that moonlight 5 lumen brightness level is 200 hours. So this flashlight can last you a very long time before you need to charge the battery again.

As I mentioned before, the Klarus XT21X flashlight does come with two programmable settings: the Tactical Setting and the Outdoor Setting. What's important to note about the settings is that they only affect the tail switches and will not affect the side switch. So no matter which setting you have the flashlight in, the side switch will remain the same. In the Tactical Setting, the tail switches will give you a momentary-on, One-Touch Turbo, and One-Touch Strobe. You'll be able to access four out of the five brightness levels. So the tactical setting will be able to access the turbo, high, medium, and moonlight. It skips the low mode of 1000 lumens. However, you can access all five brightness levels using the side switch.

The Outdoor Setting, on the other hand, allows you to access the momentary on, the One-Touch Turbo, and the One-Touch Low. It also accesses all five brightness levels using both the side switch and the tail switches. Both of these programmable settings have their uses and users really love both of them. They are fairly easy to switch between so you can choose which setting you would like the flashlight to be in whenever you want. It's a really great system that Klarus has and we really appreciate seeing it in their tactical flashlights.

Rechargeable Flashlight

USB Rechargeable Flashlight Klarus XT21X

The XT21X is a rechargeable flashlight and does feature a micro USB port that is protected by a silicone cover. It features a 2A USB fast charging which means that your flashlight is going to charge pretty quickly. While you're charging it, you can check on the charging indicator that is located on the side switch. This will let you know when the flashlight is still charging, when it's finished, and when there's some form of interruption or interference with the charging.

This flashlight does run on a 21700 battery and it's only compatible with that battery type. It does come with a Klarus 21700 lithium ion battery with a 5000 mAh capacity. This battery helps deliver that powerful 4000 lumens and it also helps to keep those run times long. When you first turn on the flashlight, you'll see the indicator on that side switch glow a certain color to give you an idea of how much battery energy you have left. This allows you to better plan your usage of the flashlight and is particularly handy during any camping or outdoor event or professional work.

Miscellaneous Flashlight Information

We covered quite a few of the features, but, believe it or not, the Klarus XT21X has more to offer. A few other aspects of the flashlight that you should be aware of is that it's also incredibly durable. It is crafted from an aluminum alloy with a hard anodized finish, is impact resistant up to 1 meters, and is waterproof up to IPX8 standards. It has several protections in place to ensure that your flashlight has a long life and can maintain itself. These protections include overcurrent protection, over charge protection, thermal protection, reverse polarity protection, and over voltage protection. Whenever you purchase a Klarus flashlight, you are getting one of the best flashlights out on the market today. Klarus backs it up with a 5-year warranty on top of that so if anything does go wrong, you're covered.

Concluding Remarks

We're definitely impressed by the Klarus XT21X tactical flashlight. That 4000 lumens is excellent and extremely bright. The 2A USB fast charging really does make a difference and the XT21X charges fairly quickly. You don't need to wait all day or even half a day to charge your flashlight fully which is great since it has that higher milliamp 21700 battery. As I said before, we are expecting another shipment of these to come in soon and you can back order a Klarus XT21X today! We will be shipping them out by June 10th. So make sure to check out the Klarus XT21X tactical flashlight.
