The Awesomeness of Bezels on LED Flashlights Part 1

The Awesomeness of Bezels on LED Flashlights Part 1

One of the features many users look for in a tactical flashlight is a good and strong bezel. With a great bezel, you can use it as a nonlethal self-defense tool and, if you get a really strong one, many can be used to break glass. Of course, you hope you never have to use them, but it’s smart to be prepared in case anything does happen. Bezels can come in all kinds of shapes and sizes and many users will sharpen them or alter them to better fit their needs. It all depends on your preference and which bezel would make you more comfortable. So let’s take a look at some of the best tactical flashlights with awesome bezels

Klarus Tactical Bezels

Let’s start with the Klarus flashlights. For the most part, Klarus has a similar stainless steel bezel on all their flashlights, particularly the XT series. These bezels are sturdy enough that they can really do some damage, but aren’t so large that they get in the way. With this kind of bezel, you can easily use it for self-defense. Bezels don’t necessarily have to be sharp enough to break skin. It can be effective just by applying a good amount of force, especially if you strike a more delicate area such as a wrist. However, even if you strike someone in the arm, the bezel will hurt enough that an attacker will most likely pull their arm back as a reflex.

The great thing about most of the Klarus bezels is that they’re removable. So if you don’t want to use the bezel, or plan on going on a trip where you won’t need it, you can take it off. Just make sure you remember where you put it!

Rechargeable Flashlight Klarus RS18

Now there’s one Klarus flashlight I want to talk about that doesn’t have a bezel, but has a glass breaker on its tail. The RS18 has a stainless steel pointy glass breaker that you can easily use to strike. It’s incredibly durable and will be more than effective in an emergency situation.

Before moving onto the next brand of flashlights, there’s one more awesome Klarus product to talk about and that is the aggressive strike bezel! As you can see in the picture below, this is one extreme bezel that, if used accurately, can break skin. It is the ultimate self-defense bezel. It is CNC machined from 304 stainless steel billet with a finish for smooth handling. It can fit on the XT11, XT12, RS11, XT11S, and XT11GT flashlights.

So the next bezel we’re going to look at is the Nitecore P12GT bezel. This flashlight is a tactical flashlight and the bezel is connected to the body. This bezel is a bit smaller, but can still be used effectively by applying enough pressure and force. The good thing about this kind of bezel is that it doesn’t get in your way a lot. If you want a tactical flashlight and the bezel is an afterthought for you, then this flashlight would be perfect!
