The Klarus FX10 LED Flashlight is Here!

We are so excited to introduce you guys to the Klarus FX10 tactical flashlight. This is the first Klarus flashlight that features an adjustable focus so you can choose between a spotlight or a flood light. An adjustable focus flashlight is really useful because you can choose the focus you like for different situations. Being able to change the focus at a moment's notice really comes in handy, especially when you're outdoors. The FX10 is really a great flashlight to keep around the house because it's so versatile. It's packed to the brim with features and we’re going to talk about a lot of them in this blog. So buckle up because here we go!

Powerful LED Flashlight

The FX10 is equipped with a CREE XP-L HI V3 LED, is able to deliver up to 1000 lumens, and has a maximum beam distance of 300 meters. It's about five and a half inches in length so it's very easy to clip onto your pocket or carry in the included holster. With the Klarus Focusing System (KFS), the ultra clear polycarbonate lens provides superior light transmission while the adjustable focus allows you to modify the beam choosing between a spot and a flood. The flood has an incredibly even distribution of light and the spotlight has a really tight hotspot with a small spill to it.

It features a patented triple switch design with dual tactical tail switches and a side switch that function independently from one another. The primary tail switch gives you a momentary on and allows you to turn the flashlight on or off. The mode switch on the tail allows you to cycle through the brightness levels and access a one-touch strobe or a one-touch low. The side switch allows you to turn on and off the flashlight, cycle through the different modes, gives you access to the one-touch low as well as the strobe and SOS modes. It also features a built-in memory function that you can take advantage of and is able to be locked out so you don't need to worry about it accidentally turning on in your pocket or bag. You're also able to lock out the tail switch by losing the tail cap about half a turn or so. This will prevent the tail cap from being activated accidentally.

Multiple Outputs and Programmable Settings

The FX10 is made for a variety of situations, packing in everything you need in a single flashlight. This light features four different brightness levels ranging from 10 lumens to 1000 lumens and includes a strobe mode and SOS mode. With all these different outputs you're definitely ready for anything. In the lowest brightness level the FX10 can last up to 260 hours on a fully charged battery which is really impressive.

You can also choose between the two programmable settings: the Tactical Setting and the Outdoor Setting. In the Tactical Setting you have access to a one-touch strobe and a one-touch turbo. In the Outdoor Setting you have access to a one-touch low and a one-touch turbo and SOS mode. Klarus has implemented these programmable settings in many of their flashlights so if you've owned a Klarus XT11GT, XT12GT, XT12S, and more then you met know about these programmable settings. It's really great that you can choose whichever setting you'd prefer. If you like one setting of the other you can keep it in your preferred setting or you can switch between the different settings depending on what you need at the time.

USB Rechargeable Flashlight

The FX10 is a USB rechargeable flashlight with a micro USB port that supports 1A fast charging. To protect the micro USB port there's a silicone cover to ensure that moisture, dust, and grime don't get into the port. On the side switch there is a charging indicator/battery level indicator. While charging the indicator will glow red and when the flashlight is fully charged indicator will go green. If something isn't right with the charging then the indicator will glow yellow. Depending on the situation there could be something interfering with the connection such as dust in the port or the charging cable, thewall adapter may be faulty, or sometimes the battery can be too low to charge through USB charging. These are just a few examples, but it's nice to know when your flashlight is experiencing a problem and is unable to charge.

The FX10 is compatible with a single 18650 battery, two CR123 batteries, or two Klarus 16340 batteries. A Klarus 18650 battery is included with this flashlights so you don't need to purchase a separate battery. As I mentioned before, the FX10 does feature a battery level indicator. With this indicator you're able to check the status of the battery at any time. The indicator will glow green whenever the battery is over 70% charged, it will glow orange when ever it’s between 30 and 70% charged, it will glow red when it's less than 30% charged, and, finally, it will flash red when it is under 10% letting you know it's time to charge your battery.

Summary

All in all we are incredibly impressed with the Klarus FX10. With any adjustable focus flashlight it can be really hard to find a good one that features a great spotlight and we're happy to announce that Klarus has definitely pulled this off. The floodlight is evenly distributed giving you a softer beam and Illuminating what's in front of you clearly. The spotlight is very far-reaching with a tight hotspot and small spill so you can still see a little bit around you.
