The NEW Klarus G35 - The BEST Outdoor Tactical Light!
Exciting news from the folks at Klarus! Next month, they’ll be shipping us their newest light, the G35. The G series includes one of our personal favorite lights, the G20. But since this new light has more in common with the G30, that’s what we’ll be using for our comparison.
Klarus G35 And All It Has To Offer
The biggest change with this light is the head. It’s the same ultra-bright 2000 lumens as the G30, which has a fantastic beam throw of 220 meters. That’s nearly the length of two football fields, and up until yesterday we would have called that pretty impressive. But then we got word of the new G35, with its redesigned head and reflector which narrows and concentrates the beam. The result is nearly a five-fold increase in beam throw...at 1000 meters. One. Thousand. Meters.
At that point, it’s not even worth it to count football fields as a demonstration. I mean, we’ll go ahead and do it anyway, why not - it’s nine. With distance to spare. But does that even help you to visualize it? This is a beam that covers more than half a mile. You could shine it across fifteen acres. Heck, you could point it straight up and use it as a searchlight.
Now here’s what’s really incredible about this light. Any light this powerful takes more than one lithium-ion 18650 battery to operate. And in this kind of flashlight weight class, you can forget about relying on CR123As. But the G35 is not just any light. Klarus has designed an all-purpose light here, and although it needs three 18650s to operate at full capacity, it can run on just one. That’s right, in emergency situations this beastly light still works on a single 18650, or even two CR123As. Incredible!
Of course, this light also comes with all the features Klarus customers expect. Dual-switch technology, a colored battery indicator, an aircraft-grade aluminum body with impact resistance up to 1 meter, intelligent temperature system to prevent damage to the light from overheating. And of course, it’s black. Which, you know, that’s cool also.
Watch out for when the G35 drops later next month!
