Time for Some Spring Cleaning with LED Flashlights
It's the time of year to clear out old junk, replace old and broken items, and generally do a big cleaning around the house. After so many months of cold weather it's finally nice outside and it's finally time to clear out the house no matter how unfun of a task it is. I don't know about you, but the last time I braved my attic was to get out holiday decorations last year. Since then I've skillfully avoided it but no longer. So in this blog we'll talk about how flashlight comes in handy while doing some spring cleaning.
Application Maintenance
Every spring our family does an appliance maintenance check. We check the dryer and this is where I flashlight really comes in handy. For example, during the spring and often fall we check the dryer vent outside as well as the exhaust duct behind the dryer. When checking both of these things we're looking for any potential blockage. Especially when checking behind the dryer I need a flashlight that can really shine into that duct to make sure there's no blockage because it's so dark. In fact, a flashlight is one of the best do-it-yourself tools that you can own.
Clearing Out the Attic and Closets
We try to clear out the attic and closets at least once a year but I'll be honest, it doesn't always happen. However, this year it did and it's always surprising to see just how bad you can clutter up space in a year or so. In Oklahoma we have venomous brown recluse spiders that like to dwell in dark and enclosed spaces such as cardboard boxes. And, as you can imagine, our attic is filled with cardboard boxes. For this particular task I like using a flashlight that has a tail stand capability. This way while we're clearing boxes out I can tail stand the flashlight and use it as a lantern, but I can also pick it up and shine it in a particular corner or box if I'm looking for a dangerous spider.
Updating My Tools
This is something that I do every year no matter what. I believe it's important to have reliable tools always ready to go. So I will look through all of my tools to make sure I have everything I need and this includes flashlights. Whether you have a general use flashlight, an everyday carry flashlight, a tactical flashlight, or whatever, you want to make sure that the flashlight is still practical and still working for you. If you notice one of your flashlights is acting a little odd then it's time to call in that warranty if it's still effective or replace that tool.
