Versatile, Powerful, Unstoppable - the Klarus FX10 Tactical Flashlight

The Klarus FX10 often gets overlooked because of other more powerful Klarus tactical flashlights. It's a shame because the Klarus FX10 has so much to offer. So today we want to highlight this flashlight and talk about some of its features.

Klarus FX10 Flashlight Features

The Klarus FX10 is one of the most versatile tactical flashlights that you will find on the market today. There is something in it for just about everybody. Not to mention, it's compatible with a ton of accessories adding more to its versatility. If you're looking for a flashlight that can be tactical, outdoor, and general use, the FX10 has that and more.

Adjustable Focus Flashlight

First, I want to talk about the adjustable focus. The Klarus FX10 does have an adjustable focus that allows you to switch the focus between a wide beam and a focused beam. The beam pattern of this flashlight is excellent and switching between the flood and the focus is so easy and seamless. The FX10 delivers a maximum output of 1000 lumens making it extremely bright. With its focused beam, it has a maximum beam distance of 300 meters which is impressive for such a compact flashlight.

Another aspect I'd like to mention is how compact this flashlight is. It's about five and a half inches in length with a body diameter of an inch, so it's going to be really easy to carry with you. It does have a pocket clip and you can also use the included holster. As I said before, this flashlight is really ready for anything and is compact enough that you can take it anywhere.

Versatile Tactical Flashlight Operation

This tactical flashlight features a triple switch design so you have the dual tail switches and a side switch that will function separately. You can operate the flashlight with either the dual tail switches or the side switch at any time. The tail switches will give you access to a momentary-on, One-Touch Turbo, and a One-Touch Strobe or a One-Touch Low depending on the programmable setting you have the flashlight in and we'll talk about that later. The side switch gives you access to a One-Touch Low, built-in memory function, and the SOS mode. If you aren't a big fan of the side switch or you're concerned about the side switch accidentally turning on, you can lock this switch out. You can also lock out the tail switches by turning the tail cap half a turn or so.

Multiple Outputs

The Klarus FX10 features multiple outputs and this includes four brightness levels, an SOS mode, and a strobe mode. The brightness levels range from 10 lumens to 1000 lumens, giving you quite a range in outputs. With any LED flashlight, multiple outputs is always a positive attribute because you will not always need the turbo mode. There are some instances where a lower mode would be preferable, especially when working around the house or during camping trips.

You also have some pretty impressive run times with this flashlight. On the lowest brightness level, the FX10 can run for up to 260 hours. So if you plan your usage correctly, it's going to be a long time before you need to worry about charging the battery.

Programmable Settings

The FX10 tactical flashlight features two programmable settings: The Tactical Setting and the Outdoor Setting. The factory default is the Tactical Setting. In this setting, the tail switches are going to give you a One-Touch Turbo, momentary on, One-Touch Strobe, and only cycle through three out of four brightness levels. This way, the flashlight is paired down to exactly what you need it to be for a tactical situation.

In the Outdoor Setting, the tail switches will give you a momentary-on, a One-Touch Turbo, and a One-Touch Low as well as cycle through all four of the brightness levels. For outdoor use and even general use, it can be a lot better to have a One-Touch Low to help you conserve the battery as well as to illuminate in small or tight areas. It's very easy to switch between these two settings and takes only a few seconds to do.

USB Rechargeable Flashlight

Making it all the more versatile and convenient, the FX10 is a rechargeable flashlight. It features a micro USB port located on the side and is protected by a silicone cover. This cover keeps the micro USB port free from dust, dirt, and water. All you need to do is plug your flashlight in using a micro USB cord and it'll charge safely and securely.

You can monitor the charging by checking the charging indicator. It will glow green when the battery is finished charging and red while the battery is still charging. This indicator also functions as a battery capacity indicator and will glow for a few seconds when you first turn the flashlight on. By checking the color of the indicator, you can easily tell how much charge your battery has left and plan your usage accordingly.

18650 Flashlight

The FX10 is an 18650 flashlight and Klarus does include an 18650 battery with the flashlight. However, it can run on two CR123 batteries or two Klarus 16340 batteries. So if you're unable to charge the included 18650 battery that the flashlight comes with, you can always equip it with one of two other battery options. This is especially important for those who need to carry backup batteries on the job.

Compatible Tactical Flashlight Accessories

I mentioned before that the Klarus FX10 is compatible with multiple flashlight accessories so let's take a look at those accessories now.

Tactical Flashlight Gun Mount

We have an onset gun mount as well as an offset gun mount that you can choose between.

Klarus TRS1 Remote Pressure Switch

Another great accessory with this light is the TRS1 remote pressure switch. If you're going to be mounting the flashlight on to a weapon, the remote pressure switch makes it a lot easier to operate that flashlight. The Klarus TRS1 features a momentary-on and it matches the outputs of the tactical flashlight. So if you're in the Outdoor Mode, it'll access the One-Touch Low and if you're in the Tactical Mode, it'll access the One-Touch Strobe. Check out the Klarus TRS1 remote pressure switch.

Tactical Flashlight Filters
